    Originally, Gina hooked up two monitors but couldn't figure out why both were showing the same background, (I think), from there the thread drifted into another direction.

    I can't get dual monitors to even show in control panel--is there some prerequisite step or setting I need to take before getting to the step discussed here?

    What ports do you have them connected too? Does your video card support multi monitors?

    Dual monitors on Windows 10

    Sorry, my monitor is connected to the USB port, not directly to the video card. The manufacturer is "AOC" and it uses a (supposedly) industry standard driver called "DisplayLink."

    (If you don't have the ability to use two monitors, as with many laptops, this is a cheap, $89 way to add one.)

    I have an ASUS USB 3 monitor on the way for my ASUS laptop. I likely can't help you until it arrives and I set it up.

    That is a good piece of equipment. I use one that is designed to hook up three monitors via usb 3.0. . .*Smile

    Got my ASUS USB 3 monitor today. Couldn't get it to work in Windows 10. I kept getting driver not compatible pop ups. Even after installing a newer driver. I finally gave up and installed Windows 8.1 on my laptop. Working fine now with the default Windows update driver/software. It was blank though until I set the correct resolution.

    I think it was a DisplayLink issue. It's working now anyway. I've had issues with the AMD/ATI video driver in Windows 10 in the past, and had a similar popup message. On the plus side the fit and finish of this display is an exact match to my laptop, it looks like it came with it.

    That's great news! So can we assume you downloaded a new DisplayLink driver? Would you have the version # and/or a link to the manufacturer's web site?
