Windows 10: Dualshock 4 controller wont connect like it used to, and I didn't do anything.

So for the best part of a year now I have been using a Playstation 4 controller to play games. It was working flawlessly without installing anything to help it. A few months ago, it started randomly disconnecting and reconnecting while it was still plugged in, which was really annoying, but it wasn't making it unusable. Now, it refuses to connect at all. When I plug it in, it says that the device has malfunctioned and I can't control anything with it. Other threads I've read similar to this say to update the driver, but it doesn't show up at all in the device manager. The controller plays and charges just fine when I use it with the PS4. This issue also carries over from computer to computer. I would prefer to be able to use it as I was using it earlier without any additional programs. Thanks in advance.

• How about connecting other Bluetooth devices?
• Is this issue specific to DualShock 4 controller gamepad?
• Did you try connecting the same device on different computer?

Try troubleshooting without the emulator. Uninstall and restart PC first.
