  1. Duplicate entries for fingerprint reader in device manager makes it not work

I have duplicate entries in Device Manager for my fingerprint reader. The reader no longer works. When I delete one of these, it works, until a restart or some other thing that causes it to scan for hardware changes again, where it adds the second entry and prevents it from working again. How can I prevent the second entry from being made? I've tried disabling one but leaving it there, but it still won't work until I delete one of them. Uninstalling both, then scanning for new hardware, sometimes works until it adds the second instance of itself. When it decides to add the device when I've uni

    Fingerprint issue/Power Management

already tried the credentials service one, not of any help. I guess the only fix is from the power management tab

    1. Press Windows Key + X and choose Device Manager from the list

    2. When Device Manager opens, locate your fingerprint reader. It should be located in Biometric Devices section.

3.Right click your fingerprint reader and choose Properties

    4. Navigate to Power Management tab and uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

    5. Click OK to save changes.

I want to follow this step but I cannot find the power management tab.

Fingerprint Reader not working on Windows 10

I can't troubleshoot my device if it isn't allowed to load. I have attached images displaying my device and the most recent update attempt.

My fingerprint reader was working when I upgraded to Windows 10, but after a system refresh, it no longer works. I know that I have the correct drivers installed as they are the ones that came with my computer's setup files.

Something else may be preventing my reader from working. Please clarify Code 31.

This question isn't answered unless all instances of this problem are put to rest.
