Windows 10: Duplicate login on Lock screen.

This has taken me months but I have finally got it !

After a w10 update I suddenly had 2 log in accounts,when trying to open my laptop with login disabled. both in my name changing name doesn't work, it just duplicates it! one with pic my real account the other had no pic system admin account !

1 :- disable the auto login w+r for run box, type netplwiz and hit enter Tick the box. tick apply, tick ok.


2 : - Restart PC. Log in using password.

3 :- Open settings, accounts, under ''your info'' change Local account to sign in with Microsoft account. Sign in using email and password for Microsoft, hit enter. On the next screen it asks for your WINDOWS log in "one last time" this has to be your PC log in PASSWORD not PIN. If you sign in with a pin you need to change it to password.

4 :- Restart PC.

5 :- Sign in using Microsoft account PASSWORD not PIN.

6 :- Open run, netplwiz and uncheck "Users must enter a Username and password to use this computer"

7 :- Restart PC, the duplicate is gone and you can log in automatically again !!!

You can use your own image of any background and just go to settings/personalize/lock screen and click on browse as in the image below. It should make whatever picture you use as the Lock Screen

Thanks for the quick reply. While your suggestion does change the sign in process, it doesn't address the differing screenshot question. Following the steps doesn't make the login screenshot the same as the Lock screenshot. As I mentioned, I can't even find the screenshots being used for both screens.

Still looking a solution to this. Open to any other suggestions you might have to the problem. Thanks!

Check Way 3: Lock computer in Screen Saver Settings.
Step 1: Type lock computer in the search box on taskbar and choose Lock the computer when I leave it alone for a period of time.
Step 2: In the Screen Saver Settings dialog, choose On resume, display logon screen and hit OK.
Is “On resume, display log on screen” checked?
