Windows 10: DVD driver missing.

Yes, I know, it's a little too late for DVD drivers, but I still wanna use them regardless. I bought a DVD driver a few days ago but I cannot seem to connect it as my Windows 10 doesn't recognize it. When going to Device Manager even if I click to show all hidden devices its still not apparent, instead, this device is labeled as "Unknown USB Device Device Descriptor Request Failed". One notably thing is that I also don't have the DVD category in device manager.Unfortunately I cannot provide the name of the driver because it only shows the generic "Ultra Thin DVD Writer" on the box. cd/dvd device driver is missing

Hi,

To fix the issue regarding error "cd/dvd device driver is missing", check the following steps:

• If Windows is asking for driver, jusk click on Cancel. It will bring you back to the Welcome screen.
  
• From there, insert it back to different USB port.
• Click on Install Now again. The installation process will go through as usual.

This happened to all updated Windows Installer. This might due to failure of windows detecting the USB drive.

When re-inserting the USB drive. Windows Installer will detect the USB drive back, and continue as usual.

I suggest you to follow the below steps & checks if the issue persists.

This issue might occur for the following reasons:

• The installation DVD is removed during the setup process.
  
• A low-quality DVD was used to create the installation DVD.
  
• The speed at which the installation DVD was burned was too fast.
  
• The DVD drive cannot read the media.
• The ISO file is corrupted.
