    problems with unit CD/DVD

    I have an issue with the unit CD/DVD as does not work even light on it blinks.

    I do not know if the problem is with unit or Windows system. Going to system information i had info as follow: Windows up to date not set to configure drivers even I made a test with Dell Assistant and they did not find any issue but that unit
    is not listed on my hardware.....

    I have installed Windows 7 home premium original however lot of actualizations for security and important not installed: failed....

    I got also and information on item system information: Windows Version 6.1??? cmd64..

    on the information about Driver 32 I got Driver 32? CD ROM DRIVER CD ROM ... KERNE, DRIVER NOT INITIATE SYSTEM FDC NOT

    My Dell computer is old OptiPlex 745

    Burned DVD's Work in SOME players

    In that case, it is possible the problem is with the blu ray player not supporting DVD+R disks.

    Suggest you check to make sure: it's possible you can overcome this problem by simply burning DVD-R instead of DVD+R. Check your blu ray compatibility list first.

    It may be that your DVD drive has a hardware failure (as was suggested in that thread).
