Windows 10: DVI-D to HDMI problem

Discus and support DVI-D to HDMI problem in Windows 10 Graphic Cards to solve the problem; DVI supports audio in a DVI-to-HDMI -cabling, not the other way around (incase youd need HDMI-audio de-embedder, which no blank HDMI-to-DVI -adapter...     DVI-D to HDMI problem


    According to the specification for the DVI interface, there is no audio in a DVI signal from the video card. DVI is video only. There can be an Analog Video signal and a Digital Video signal, but there is no audio signal.

    If all you have is a passive adapter or cable, you will not get any audio at the HDMI end of the cable. That's all I'm saying. It's not relevant to the problem at hand anyway.

    metrognome, when you switch to HDMI on the monitor, make sure the PC is in "PC Screen Only Mode", Windows logo key *Start + P > PC Screen Only. Just to make sure your PC isn't accidentally detecting your one monitor as two monitors. Or unplug the VGA cable.

    nvidia gtx 470 for example delivers audio via DVI-to-HDMI - one more case of wikipedia not giving out the full facts. but yeah whatever, its a bit offtopic anyway

    Mystere hit on it earlier. It was displaying like it was the second monitor in a dual monitor setup. With both cables connected, and the monitor on, The PC thought there were two monitors connected. You should be all set now.
