Not sure why this happens... Hopefully someone can help me solve this. This is the second system that it has occurred on for me. Back when I had a Win 7 Pro system with mirrored drives I distinctly remember both drives of a mirror showing in the resource monitor. FYI, the only data I could find mentioned resetting the PerfMon counters with "lodctr /r" from an admin prompt. I performed the PerfMon counter resets but nothing changed.

Both drives show properly in Disk Manager:

Both drives show properly in Task Manager -> Performance tab:

Drives don't show up in the Resource Monitor -> Disk tab:

Note that the disk mirror sync throughput registers against the System process/service.

    Edit: Further info:

File activity on the missing drive(s) shows in the Disk Activity panel, but still no stats on the physical devices in the Storage panel at the bottom:

More info: PerfMon works for both physical disks

is there anyway to reset the resource monitor so it shows all my disks? Not showing anything in storage area. Computer seems to work fine. Everything shows up on task manager.

    Thanks!

  3. Disk CDynamic disks not showing in Resource Monitor :(OS) shows in the Resource monitor as E:2\

    Hi!

On one of my PC's disk CDynamic disks not showing in Resource Monitor :(OS) shows in the Resource Monitor as E:2\

I think this happened when I was restoring my whole OS drive from backup. As a result all of my drives and partitions got messed up. This is the only thing I can't explain and I don't understand what does it mean?

    Any suggestions?

Convert Basic Disk into Dynamic Disk

    Hi Charbel,

It would be helpful if you mentioned the things that you have tried to do that failed so that we can skip those steps. You can follow the steps provided in the article:
How to convert a basic disk to a dynamic disk in Windows 7, to change a basic disk to
a dynamic one. The instructions are also applicable for Windows 10. You can also check this article:
    Extend a basic volume.

Ensure that you create a back up for your system as well.

    Regards.
