Windows 10: Earbuds are not detected, Windows update Error: 0x80080008

In short, I planned to play a game called "Osu!". In the process of doing so, I decided I wanted to use earbuds instead of using my USB headphones. I noticed that my laptop wasn't detecting my earbuds via audio jack, and i looked up the reason and found it had something to do with Realtek. From there, I tried to access the realtek audio manager, but couldnt find it. I tried to restart my laptop after that to see if that would fix the issue. Instead, it didn't. And now when I try to shut down my computer it warns that task host window is open, and it prevents shut down. A few minutes later I'm looking up fixes, and one of the fixes were to check if Windows were updated. So as I went to go do it, I noticed that there was a failed windows update, and the last attempt on it being updated was 1/4/19 (yesterday as of now). There is an error code below the failed windows update that says "Realtek Semiconductor Corp. - MEDIA - 10/16/2018 12:00:00 AM - 6.0.1.8555 - Error 0x80080008". I've tried trouble shooting, lines of scripts in cmd, cleaning up my pc, and nothing has worked. Any idea of how to fix this? I've attempted nearly all day and I've not even become close.
