Windows 10: Edge, Chrome, Firefox browsers all having sporadic issues

The problem: Browsers are inconsistently working- various websites will sometimes open while other times will indicate error such as not secure, website not responding, load half-way, or simply continue loading without success. Also, when I click on link for a new tab same issues occur as with original tab.


Solutions I implemented: basic maintenance such as clearing browser, cache, etc. Restarting computer and re-installed browsers. Finally re-installed windows 10 (note: re-install was complete including deleting all files, which I saved on one drive). Re-install worked temporarily but reverted to original issues withing 30 minutes of being online. Opened cmd prmpt enter following for one of the websites not loading properly "tracert (https://my.malwarebytes.com/en/login)". Results was the following error- The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.


Next step by a Mac... (just kidding like my computer)

That's why i started using chrome a while ago, i know there is always an extension to do something in Firefox, but at the end of the day i prefer it if the browser just happens to include these features.

There are other things that pushed me to chrome as well

• Firefox 4-6 were full of bugs
• The add-ons have to be updated manually in firefox
• Google chrome will synchronise every single setting in the browser including the add-ons i have across all of my computers without a single add-on needed (to do the synchronisation of course, i still use them for other things)
• Chrome works faster for me
• Chrome has that brilliant start page
• I could go on all day, there aren't any massive things Firefox is missing, it's all the small things it's missing that add up and make Google chrome better.

 

importing firefox bookmarks to edge

The only browser that shows up in Edge to import bookmarks from is Internet Explorer. I also have Firefox and Chrome installed but neither shows on the import list. Anxious to try Edge but will continue using Firefox until I can import bookmarks.

From the above description, I understand you have trouble accessing the Facebook webpage on Chrome and Firefox browser, and similar issue persists on desktop and laptop but not on iPad or phone. The issue persists even after clearing the cache, uninstalling
and re-installing the Chrome browser.



Before assisting further, I would like to ask you few questions:

• Did you check if similar issue persists on Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer browser?
• Does the issue persists only on Facebook webpage?

You may be facing the above issue due to the browser components conflicting with the internet connection or the internet connection received on the computer on connecting to the webpage



I suggest you to check if similar issue persists on logging in into the Facebook social webpage using Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer browser. Also check if similar issue persists on logging in into other social accounts using Chrome or Firefox
browser.



Step 1: If the issue persists on other social networking webpages also, run the
Internet connection troubleshooter by following the steps below and check if the issue is fixed.

• Press Windows logo key on the keyboard, type
  Troubleshooting and select the top most search result.
• Click on View all from the left side panel of the window.
• Select Internet Connections,
  click on Advanced and check Apply repairs automatically
  option.
• Follow the on screen instructions and wait for the troubleshooter to complete.
• Check the status after the troubleshooting is complete, close the window and check if the changes are effective.

Step 2: If the issue persists only on using Facebook webpage, I suggest you to get in touch with the Facebook support forum group for further assistance as you have already contacted them before.
