    Edge hijacked by advert


    Looking through news on Sky, I had an advert for antiwrinkle cream appear and stop me shutting down Edge. I went to task manager and shut down Edge, that didn't work, so I restarted W10 and as soon as I opened the browser it was back, I then shut down Windows and on restarting, it was still there. What is the correct way to get rid of these jerks? Malwarebytes did not find anything.

    my edge browser is being hijacked by some kind of pop up. How do I disable it? Seems to be whenever I use a site with adverts. It varies form an alert that my system is being attack to adverts for PC solutions.

    Edge hijacked by advert

    Hey follow these steps:

    Go to run and type in Google

    when edge opens up close the previous tab

    and reset all settings for edge

    PS: Scan your PC for any malware / spyware infections. And also update the antivirus database via updates.

    Please post the results of the steps performed

    This has hi-jacked your browser.
    Simple answer is disconnect your router, this breaks the connection, restart computer and delete page, then reconnect your router, then restart.
    You can do an anti-virus scan afterwards but these page high-jacks once broken are harmless.
