How can I disable or completely remove Edge. I understand it has been made a part of the operating system. If so, I find that unconscionable given there are numerous other browsers that are considerably better and more flexible. Edge, at every move, appears to be taking over my browsing habits and hijacking my file explorer operations. I do not want file explorer opening Edge when I use the search box for something. Windows allows a default browser to be selected, then overrides it in is operational searches. That is very disconcerting since Edge is so wacky. Why not just discontinue it altogether or embellish it with all the features of it competitive browsers. I personally believe it should not be allowed to control since options are available and Windows is supposed to be an operational platform rather than holding it users hostage to what should be a separate capability beyond the basic operating system and if linked, should be freely allowed to be discontinued and not allowed to collect any user information.

By right, I believe Edge and IE or in general, browsers, should be treated as applications or software separate from the operating platform or as a tool. I don't having it embedded as part of the operating systems gains any special advantage. In fact, it appears to severely limit the user and in a manner which I cannot support. Microsoft should meet the demands of its user community and fix this post haste as their appears to not be any current solutions to this dilemma.

If I should be in err, my humble apology but given my research, it appears there has been no resolution to this.

    :)
