    eGPU not working after Windows 10 Update (KB4580980)


    As the title says, when I connect my eGPU to my laptop, it fails to detect it (using USB-C). It was working yesterday, but that changed after a forced update today (thank you Bill Gates).

    When I visit device manager and select "Show Hidden Devices", the card (2070 Super) appears. Upon looking at the device status, I read "Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer".

    I've tried numerous restarts, unplugging and re-plugging the GPU and its chords from its external enclosure. I've also tried uninstalling the updates; the security update cooperates but the main system update gives me a "failed to fully uninstall" error.

    As a note: Usually, when I plug-in my eGPU, the fans spin at max rpm for a few seconds and stop when Windows detects the hardware. But now, upon plugging in my eGPU, every fan endlessly spins at max rpm. This includes: power supply; GPU; and enclosure fan. The difference now being the lights on the GPU don't light up. And the fans, they won't shut up.

    Thank you for trying to help , i did tried your suggestion but it did not work :/ , nothing seems to make it work on Windows 10 Fall Creators Update 1709. In the meantime i have bought a new SoundBlasterX AE-5 and it did installed flawlessly , no problems whatsoever. it is up to Creative ( drivers ) and Microsoft ( bug fix ) to fix this huge bugs with Audio.

    With the shear number of companies backing the idea and AMD stepping in to make a standard I would say you are wrong.

    Unlocked Realtek HD Audio Drivers Windows 7 & 8 (With Dolby Digital Live and DTS Interactive)

    DTS supported natively by Windows 8/8.1 and it should work on windows 10 too just DDL require to unlock your driver .
