Discus and support Either I have no transparency on Start, Task Bar, and Action Center, or no color after 1903... in Windows 10 Customization to solve the problem; I had updated to version 1903, but the Windows Security threat protection kept turning off (not by me!) and I was not able to do either full or offline...     Either I have no transparency on Start, Task Bar, and Action Center, or no color after 1903...


    I had updated to version 1903, but the Windows Security threat protection kept turning off (not by me!) and I was not able to do either full or offline scans (they would not respond or shut off immediately), so I downloaded the Win 10 1903 files from the MS website, but now the display does not function like before.

    I have a Surface Pro (5), for what that's worth.

    The dialog box for applying color to the Task Bar, Start, and Control Center is greyed out unless I choose Dark from the default Windows mode. When I do, I lose transparency. There are a couple of sites online that suggest registry changes to increase transparency... do these work?

    Hello Rosalie,

    If you selected to use "Light" for "Choose your color" or "Choose your default Windows mode", it will gray out and disable the "Start, taskbar, and action center" setting to "Show accent color on".

    You can select to use Custom for "Choose your color" and select Dark for "Choose your default Windows mode", or just Dark for "Choose your color".

    The tutorials below can help show you more on this if needed.
