  2. No Option To Eject USB Flash Drive

New Windows 10 Pro install. When I click on the USB icon to eject a flash drive the flash drive shows up, but the option to eject USB flash memory is missing.

  3. Remounting ejected USB Flash drive in Win 10

    OK, some more information.

When I use the right click over the device in file explorer and choose "eject" it all works fine. I can do this process repeatedly and the USB re-mounts every time.

However, when I use the "safely remove hardware and eject media" icon in the system tray, the USB flash drive will not re-mount. If I reboot, it will only then re-mount. This issue does not just happen once but every time.

This happens on all USB ports.

This is a plug ans play flash drive and I have the latest Win 10 updates installed. Not sure how you update this plug and play device driver if I have the latest Win 10.

Can you please confirm if this happens on your PC as it may be either a bug or it is how it is supposed to work when you use the system tray icon.

    Thanks

    Jeff

Remounting ejected USB Flash drive in Win 10

    Hi,

After I safely eject a USB flash drive, after a while, if I plug it back in again it is not recognised. How do I remount it.

It seems that I have to re-boot my PC to get it to recognise the USB flash drive again after safely ejecting. This is very inefficient if I need to do several file transfers intermittently. Is there a fix?

    Thanks

    Jeff
