    ELAN Touchpad Disables for a Bit When Using Keyboard for Games


    Whenever I try to play a game on my hp laptop, I cannot use my touchpad which is an ELAN touchpad. I have looked through many forums and can still not find a fix. When I test to see if I can use the touchpad and keyboard outside of games, it works just fine. It only stops working while I am in a game. Any ideas on how to fix this?

    Cannot disable my Elan touchpad on my new HP laptop

    Based on what you shared, I think the best way to solve this problem is for you to disable the touchpad.

    Please see the steps below:

    To disable the Touchpad:

    1. Press Windows+r on your keyboard.

    2. Type devmgmt.msc and press enter on your keyboard

    3. Expand the category "Mouse and other Pointing Devices" and right-click on the driver for the Elan Touchpad and select
    Disable Driver.

    4. Restart your device

    After completing the above steps please let me know if it helped, if it didn't we can try a different solution

    How to disable palm tracking in ELAN touchpad?

    I bought a new acer laptop with ELAN touchpad driver. Am not able to use keyboard and touchpad at the same time(when i hold the key , the touchpad freezes). I had the same issue on another laptop with synaptics and got it fixed through registry. I dont
    know what to do to disable palm tracking in this case.

    Cannot disable ELAN Touchpad on Lenovo G500


    Prior to installing Windows 10, I would disable the touchpad on my PC (hate it!) by going to Settings - Mouse Properties - ELAN - Stop Device. Since installing Windows 10, the ELAN device does not show up under devices and I cannot disable. Does anyone know how to fix this?
