Windows 10: ELAN WBF Fingerprint Sensor Driver Exit Code 31

Hi @all!Today, I got a driver update for my BENSS fingerprint sensor Amazon Link via Windows updates. It updated from:ELAN WBF Fingerprint Sensor version 3.10.12001.10102 [02/04/2020] to ELAN WBF Fingerprint Sensor version 3.10.12001.10501 [07/01/2022].The new driver exits with the code 31.I "solved" my issue by falling back to the old driverevice Manager -> Biometric devices -> ELAN WBF Fingerprint Sensor -> Right-click Update driver... -> Search on my computer -> Select from a list

Fingerprint Sensor not working

Recently I have been unable to use my fingerprint sensor on my Asus Vivobook Pro14X. Under device manager > ELAN WBF Fingerprint Sensor properties, it is stated that "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)



Insufficient system resources exist to complete the API. "

May I know how to resolve this?

 

FINGERPRINT SENSOR ELAN WBF NOT WORKING ON Windows 10 -

Hello,

After an update, the Windows Hello Fingerprint option is no longer available / doesnt work.

Here the info about my pc:

MODEL: HP 15-dw0014nl

Windows Version: 1909 (Build 18363.592)

I went to device manager and saw that there is a problem in the driver ELAN WBF Fingerprint Sensor.

Device Status:

This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)

{Operation Failed}

The requested operation was unsuccessful.

I am no pc expert and apart from checking for updates, I don't know what to do.

How can I solve the problem? I also tried to see if I could download the driver online in order to do uninstall&reinstall, but I couldn't find an official website and I didn't trust sources like softpedia.

Any help would really be appreciated.

ELAN WBF Fingerprint Sensor on ASUS Laptop cannot start

hi,

ELAN WBF Fingerprint Sensor on ASUS Laptop is not working,

version: 4.5.1001.10704

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

The process hosting the driver for this device has terminated.

I think this happened since this update windows, but I don't know which one,

since after tried to Reset this PC and check updates, the windows is updating these:

Quality Updates:

- 2019-10 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1903 for x64-based System (KB4522355)

Other Updates:

- Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool x64 - October 2019 (KB890830)

tried to uninstall the Quality update using Recovery > Advanced Startup, but unable to uninstall.

kindly please help if someone also experienced this problem.
