Windows 10: EmbeddedBrowserWebView.dll.pdb is no more available on symbol server

With latest Updates of webview2 runtime this pdb File is no more available. Is this a known Bug?Kind regards,Andreas

while debugging a dump we noticed that pdbs for some versions of msvcp140.dll doesn't look available anymore from

The issue is with 14.16.27012.6

Is there another servere address ? or can we find the pdb elsewhere ?

 

How can I diagnose a SymStore issue when uploading symbols to a symbol server

Hi,

Our build machines are having issues uploading symbols to our symbol server using the `symstore` executable from the "Debugging Tools for Windows". The following is some of the output

SYMSTORE ERROR: Class: Internal. Desc: Failed to index <filename>.dll. Line: 169. Error 536870914

SYMSTORE MESSAGE: Skipping <filename>.pdb - unsupported format. ErrorLevel is 11.

Since we also save the pdb and dll as part of the build I'm able to download the files and using the exact same symstore executable I'm able to successfully upload the symbols to the symbol server.

I'm wondering if the error code 536870914 (0x20000002) means anything as I couldn't find anything doing a web search.

I'm also wondering if this is a DLL issue where the symstore is picking up a different version.

For our case we store the following files that we are using the same executables/dlls across machines:

dbghelp.dll

dbgview.chm

Dbgview.exe

symsrv.dll

symsrv.yes

symstore.exe

I understand that some symbols for msvcp140.dll are missing while debugging a dump file.



It seems that you are using Visual Studio debugger, I would suggest you to try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 redistributable file and see if that helps. You can also refer the article on

Specify symbol (.pdb) and source files in the Visual Studio debugger (C#, C++, Visual Basic, F#) and see if you find more information on the same.
