Windows 10: enable 16-bit subsystem on windows 10 v1803 64-bit

Discus and support enable 16-bit subsystem on windows 10 v1803 64-bit in Windows 10 Customization to solve the problem; does anyone know of a way to enable the 16-bit subsystem in windows 10 64-bit or is that feature 32-bit only?     does anyone know of a way to enable the 16-bit subsystem in windows 10 64-bit or is that feature 32-bit only? I don't want to emulate or virtualise a 32-bit version of windows....

    How do I run old 16 bit program on Windows 10 64 bit system

    16 bit Windows programs do not run on x64 Windows since like Windows XP 64 bit. Apparently this is due to performance impacts required to support the 16 bit subsystem.

    Interestingly, the same program will usually run on Windows 10 32 bit.

    I understand the choice, but it is a little frustrating. I would like to have the choice of whether to run the 16 bit subsystem.

    You need to install a VM of some kind to run these apps.

    64 bit to 32 bit

    Windows 10 64 bit includes a 32 bit subsystem, so most 32 bit programs should work on Windows 10 64 bit without issue. If the software was designed for older versions of Windows such Windows 95 or Windows 98, it is a possibility it might have some 16 bit
    code. Usually such older apps have 16 bit installers and uninstallers that might prevent the app from working on Windows 10 64 bit.

    In such case, you might need to install the software in a virtual machine.
