Windows 10: Enable or Disable Adobe Flash Player in Microsoft Edge in Windows 10

Hi, I have exactly the same situation. Windows 10 creators is up to date. have defaulted Edges etc and it still does not work.

It does not seem to be a global setting, and must be activated for every website? Am I correct in this assumption?

That is of course after getting it to work first.

Edge will block untrusted Adobe Flash content by default. It appears it may be a bit over aggressive if you're having to unblock for every site, but that can be a good thing considering how vulnerable Adobe Flash can be.

In Edge I don't get diverted to your error page, it stays on that page but says 'Please Update/Enable Your Flash Player' regardless of whether Flash is turned on or not.

In IE Flash is working and I can play the game. To switch to IE from Edge, click the 'three dots' and select 'open with Internet Explorer'.

 

Hope its OK to post all this here...... any ideas welcome, or is this happening for others ?

I'm having issues with Flash in Edge (CFU, fully updated). The images explain it all...

1/ The BBC Weather page generates an error saying I need Flash Player.

2/ The Adobe help pages show Flash as being disabled but it is not as you can see in this image.





3/ I check the registry key mentioned in this thread. Its fine.





4/ The 'Test Flash Player' link from earlier in this thread seems to work ! Where the advert is in this image is initially an animated Flash logo/image that I assume is working OK. This page tells me which version I have installed.

Does option 2 stop win-10 flash player updates from resetting flash player settings to always allow content to download... ?
Control panel/ flash player settings is what I'm referring to they always get changed from my preference which is Block to allow with every update :/

Once MS removes all traces of the control panel flash player listing will also be gone and our ability to even see these crazy defaults :/

 

Yes, it happens for me too (build 16299.64). This is not the first time Edge has 'misidentified' its capabilities to a website. As in previous similar cases I've seen there is a workaround until MS issues a fix. If you use the F12 Developers Tools and set the 'User agent string' on the 'Emulation' tab to 'Apple Safari (iPad)' the video will play.

The easier workaround for now is just to click Edge's 'three dots' menu and select 'Open with Internet Explorer' - that works fine.

Just to bring the specific issue I have of Adobe Flash not opening on the BBC site up to date. Well I found that if I click the offered link to install Flash Player (the link within the message box saying I don't have Flash Player installed) then the familiar 'Allow or Block' content box opens and the little 'Jigsaw' icon appears.

I'm not sure whether this would be classed as a bug with W10/Edge/Adobe or a BBC site issue. It certainly didn't happen before the Fall update.
