  2. If/when I upgrade to Windows 10 from Win 7 Pro and/or 8.1, will I still be able to use Office 2007 products?

Office 2007 should work fine on Windows 10.

I have not seen anything official, but I recall posts in these forums about people trying it out in the previews.

Office 2007 is still 'supported' through October 10, 2017.

  3. Is Windows 10 Still going to be Supported until late 2025

There are 2 major updates in 2017 and 2018 and the next LTSB is released in 2019 but the codename is still Redstone. The time Feature Updates for Windows 10 would have to Stop is when Mainstream Support ends on October 13th 2020 and then they should have
Security Updates from 2020 until then the Extended Support end date for Windows 10 (according to all Windows Versions) is 14th October 2025 for All Editions of Windows 10?

Microsoft is killing off Windows Phone after the end of Mainstream Support for Windows 10 Mobile after October 2018, according to Microsoft Windows 10 Mobile and Mobile Enterprise have no end of extended support date. But Windows 10 PCs will have End of
    Extended Support for all editions?

  4. End of extended support for Office 2007 on October 10, 2017

Hey Brink.... Good info. Thanks for the reminder.

Question for you..... Do you think that old, or existing, Office 2007 updates will still be available through Windows Update after 10/10/17 if they're needed?

I need to do a clean reinstall of Windows and my all of my programs (Office 2007, etc.), but I may not have time to do that until late October.... which will be after support ends for Office 2007.

I'll need to patch Office 2007 with all of its old updates after the reinstall, but I don't know if they'll show up in Windows Update or if I have to search and download them from Microsoft's Update Catalog.

    Thoughts? Thanks.

Hello Toby, and welcome to Ten Forums. *Smile

To be safe, I would recommend to download the latest offline version of Office 2007 to have handy.

  6. Hi Brink.... Thanks for the quick reply. I'm not sure what you mean by "download the latest offline version"?

I have my Office 2007 Professional installation CD and a Service Pack 3 (exe) file.

Is a more complete, up-to-date, package available online? Where would I find that.... at Microsoft.com? I didn't know those existed.

    Thanks.

End of extended support for Office 2007 on October 10, 2017

Thats a shame. In this day and age, some families and individuals just can not afford to upgrade, being forced to by a company that has thrived due to the average family/individuals purchasing of their product, seems a little mean.

They will still be able to use Office 2007. It just won't get anymore updates.

No company will provide support for old outdated software versions indefinitely.

The security updates is a big one though, I know the average user probably doesn’t even know that they were being looked after with updates etc, but it would be a pitty if they found out due to an exploit that is ignored. I help a lot of struggling families that have very old computers. I realise MS wont stop it working. Yes, that is a good thing, to a point.

  13. End of extended support for Office 2007 on October 10, 2017

Windows Update hasn't offered me any Office updates for over a year.

Where can I find a list of the updates that are supposed to have been installed in Office 2007 (and Office 2010 for that matter)?
