Windows 10: Epson Stylus Pro 7600 - Driver does not work with Windows 10

I am trying to set up an Epson Stylus Pro 7600 printer on Windows 10


There is a history of the available drivers not working on Windows 10 when Win10 was first release and people having to find work arounds (like running the installer in "compatibility" mode), however Epson released a new driver in 2018:

This is the driver I have been trying to install...

• The installer runs correctly and installs the driver
• The printer shows up in the Device Manager under Software Devices as Epson Stylus Pro 7600
• The printer shows up in the Devices and Printers Control Panel but it is under Unspecified (not Printers) as USB2.0 high speed printer

It does not show up as a printer. I cannot add it as a printer manually.


I am not sure where to go from here so any advice would be appreciated, thank you.

Drivers for an Epson Stylus pro 7600

Where can I find drivers for an Epson Stylus pro 7600? Some suggested the XP driver will work with windows 10. Apparently Epson no longer has those drivers on their site.

I've solved this problem, follow this steps (some may require aditional instructions, please google them)
Check in devices and printers if you have a "unknown device" - that should be your 7600 printer, only shows if powered on.

1. Download the drivers for Windows Vista 64 or 32 deppending on your OS, from the Epson website
2. Extract/unzip the drivers but do not install from the setup.
3. To be able to install the vista drivers you must disable driver signature enforcement (google it), needs a restart.
4. After driver signature enforcement is disabled: Open Device Manager and search for the 7600 on printers, right click on Epson Stylus pro 7600 and select update driver.
5. Select the find software option and search for the extracted folder with the drivers
6. Install - confirm instalation if red warning appears.

It works
