Windows 10: Erroneous virtual desktops

I use virtual desktops often and for several months I've noticed a problem when switching from on to the other using the keyboard shortcuts. Often I switch from the #1 desktop to the #2 desktop and the first desktop slides over and corrupts the change by appearing there also. I just had that happen again but this time I decided to just open another desktop and wait for the second one to stop displaying the contents from the first and just found out that the erroneous desktop appears in every new desktop created until it just snaps back to the correct desktop, usually after a few seconds.


My Feedback app in win10 will never work so I'm posting this here but I believe this is a legitimate bug as it's persisted from one build to another.

Erroneous symbols at the bottom left corner of desktop icons

I'm running Windows 10 with the latest updates. A few days ago, the icons for objects on the desktop changed appearance. The icons are correct but
all have a symbol at the bottom left corner:

• Shortcuts show the correct shortcut symbol
• All files erroneously show a shortcut symbol
• Almost all folders erroneously show a shortcut symbol
• Some folders erroneously show "X"

The icons for files and folders (including the Desktop folder) displayed using File Explorer are all normal.

I would appreciate any suggestions.

 

Virtual desktops

In the article you linked it says talks about 4 goals Microsoft has with virtual desktops:

• Give you more desktop space to group related windows
• Help you quickly locate and switch to any window or group of windows
• Let you easily re-organize your groups and move windows as tasks evolve
• Keep you in control of the degree of separation between your grouped windows

Not being able to control what desktop the program opens on really doesn't fit in with these goals.

Give me one good reason for why it is suppose force me to change virtual desktop when I open a program, just one good reason and I will consider to drop the issue. To me this sounds like virtual desktops isn't ready yet and you refuse to acknowledge that
there are bugs, because this makes it very hard to work with multiply virtual desktops.
