  1. Error: 0x000007d1, when trying to use Printer

In the Spring of 2019, I did the Windows 10 update and this created a 0x000007d1 error print driver error. After some struggle, I found the answer her in Microsoft Community: a procedure to delete a file via RegEdit.

In January 2020, I needed to reset Windows 10 and know I am experiencing the 0x000007d1 error again. Problem is that the ability to follow the RegEdit procedure is not available to me since that was already done on this machine.

Please provide a fix for 0x000007d1 error besides the RegEdit fix.

    Thanks.

    James Taylor

    Error 0x000007d1

I've reinstalled the printer, using the steps above. I still get the same error:

Operation could not be completed (error 0x000007d1).

    The specified driver is invalid.

Thanks for your help. What should I try next?

  3. (error 0x000007d1) on Printer

    Hi David,

A misconfiguration with the device driver can cause the error code 0x000007D1. I will need more details to properly address your issue. Kindly answer the following questions:

    • How did you install the printer driver? Was it automatically installed through Windows Update or did you manually install it?
    • Can you tell me the current OS Build of your Windows 10 version 1803 PC? You can find this information by clicking the
      Start button, type
About your PC, press Enter, and then scroll down to
      Windows specifications.

For now, I recommend performing the troubleshooting steps outlined in the articles below. The links have instructions on how to troubleshoot printer issues in Windows 10.

We're looking forward to your response.
