Windows 10: Error 0x80004005 in Win10 1909 update

My current Win10 Home version is 1803. I have been trying to update to 1909, yet it never worked. error code 0x80004005


I already ran the troubleshoot a few times and also tried the method "Rename win update folders" as indicated on this page https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...-failure/156adfb8-e7e1-46fa-b5c6-cbd5dcfebbb9

But I still can't update my system. It usually ends in the installation at about 80% or 90%.


Could anyone offer some possible solutions to this problem? Thanks in advance!

Error 0x80004005

I have looked over many other posts about this, all with the same error code, but with a different problem.

I have a computer thats a few years old, it has an ABIT kn8-sli motherboard, and its running off windows XP.

I was having problem with the hard drive before I gave up on it awhile back, and now I have come back and resolved that problem, but now when I get to the login screen and type in the password it says its in need of an update, then when it asks me if I want to update I click Yes, and then it says it won't work due to error 0x80004005.

The only operating system I have currently is windows 7. Do I need to go buy a new OS or is this recoverable?
