Windows 10: Error 0x80070005

I posted to the Windows Insider Preview Feedback hub, but i just remembered that you guys are many times a lot better at providing useful information, so please forgive the similarity to double-posting-

I have two issues. This post addresses the major issue:

I have a laptop that i had lent to a daughter in college a couple years ago. Before her taking it i believe i must have upgraded it to the Windows Preview Program (though mistakenly to "Home" instead of "Pro", which is the subject of my "minor issue" other post).

I got it back today and was going through trying to get the OS all updated, but i keep running into the above error.

The present OS shows as: Windows 10 Home Evaluation copy Build 18342.19h1_release.190215-1528
The updated OS it is trying to install is: Windows 10 Insider Preview 10.0.18362.30 (19h1_release) amd64 2019-04

After getting between 94% to 100% of "Status: Getting things ready - " it throws that error and states: "There were problems installing some updates, but we'll try again later." It has tried over twenty times today. I recall some folks saying that the definition of insanity was doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result...

I find the name of the intended update rather disconcerting, for it has "amd64" in the name. The computer is an Acer that has a label clearly stating "Intel Inside PENTIUM".

Looking for help i have tried a number of things:

I have about 650GB of space available on the HD.

I activated and used the internal System Administrator account, then running restarts of the OS between each of the following:

With a command prompt (running in the Administrator account, not just a user account set to be an Administrator), i ran:
sc config wuauserv start=auto
sc config bits start=auto
sc config cryptsvc start=auto
sc config trustedinstaller start=auto

I brought up systems.msc, went to the windows update service and chose "restart" as it was already set to automatic.
regsvr32 quartz.dll

sfc /scannow (Errors found and fixed)
and also:
Microsoft Safety Scanner (No issues found)
Microsoft Windows Update Troubleshooter (No issues found)
Malwarebytes (No issues found)
I see that she has some gaming "platform" running called "Origin". I had left it running without thinking it might be a problem.
Checking the Task Manager, i do not see any anti-malware running other than the instance of Malwarebytes that i installed after trying everything else.

Can any of you folks who really know what you are doing give me a little direction here?
