Windows 10: Error 0X80070013 BACKUP FAILS - MESSAGE MEDIA PROTECTED!

Hi All,


Since the latest upgrade to 1809 on my Surface Studio - the backup does fail every time I try despite all maneuvers I followed.


Here we go again, same pain to go through...reminds me of last October, when it was a failor.


So since February 20th, I have not succeeded in backing up my Surface Studio and that's a real problem!


Kindly help me if there's a solution. Thanks


NB tried all kind of trics available in the community exchanges


PS I have noticed that my PC is slower too...

The backup failed. Then media is write protected. (0x80070013)

I get to Properties, but there is no Policies tab.

And nothing that looks like 'Write caching and Safe Removal', select 'Optimize for performance'.

Please help!

I had no problem with the backups until around 1-2 months ago.

The error happened at almost the end of backup. I used some dvd -rw and dvd +rw to create system image, but no matter which kind of dvd I used, the error was always ----

Therefore I have no ideal how to fix this problem. In addition, I checked the dvds I used, they are ok and the system I am using is windows 10 32-bit.

Can someone answer my question?

Windows Backup - error 0x80070013

I have seen several questions about error 0x80070013 but unfortunately no answers.

I have Windows 10 Pro Version 1809, installed 3/10/2018, OS Build 17763.134.

When I try to set up a weekly backup, I am firstly prompted to perform a first backup. Unfortunately, when the progress gets to 97%, nothing much happens, task manager shows 0% CPU usage for the backup program and there is write activity to the destination
external drive. When I stop the backup, the result is error 0x80070013 and a message that the drive is write protected. This is very interesting because I backup files from the internal HD to the external HD all the time and there is no problem in writing
to it. I have checked permissions and security settings and they allow just about everyone full access to the drive. The same happens when I try to backup to a second external drive.

All help would be appreciated.
