    Hi.
I'm sorry, but today is a really bad day for me, and I won't be around much.
You could try the DISM commands (at an admin command prompt):

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /checkhealth

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /scanhealth

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /restorehealth

    and then, again

    sfc /scannow

If you get errors running any of them, because the files could not be found, then mount your ISO, and point to it - follow the instructions in this tut:

Use DISM to Repair Windows 10 Image Windows 10 Tutorials

You could also try downloading KB4088776 from the Windows Update Catalogue and installing it that way.
    Microsoft Update Catalog

I'm not familiar with Windows Storage Spaces (don't use it), and so I'd have to do a little reading up on that to see if it might be causing part of the problem or not. Unfortunately, don't have time atm.

Oh, and yes, Macrium will fail the moment your drives become a problem. Every drive is different. If you want, download DiskCheckup from PassMark and run it for a while (an hour or two - it has to evaluate the drive changes, before it gives you an accurate expected failure date).

If you run this command after the DISMs, it will put a text file on your desktop with the relevant info we need to troubleshoot further:
    Code: findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log >"%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt"[/quote]

No need to be sorry. I'm not expecting you to be sitting there as my real time support assistant *Smile. I do really appreciate your help though.

So, I went through the suggestions in the links I posted. The sfc /scannow had failed in normal boot mode. The recommendation was to run it in safe mode, which was my last attempt. It came back stating there were no issues, and finished fine. WFT?

Anyway, I now will go down the path of your suggestions above.

    Thanks again.

P.S. - By the way, I'm back to the 0x80070057 error. System is schizophrenic.

I ran all the cmds you listed and all were find. Indicated no problems.

Ran the Windows Update. Still Failed.

Downloaded it per your link and it installed successfully.

Interestingly, when I run Windows Update, it still shows this:

For now, I'm going to assume that once it runs an automatic check it will clear that out.

    I have a few minutes...
Please run the command in post #31 and attach the text file here for me to have a look.

Have you modified any telemetry settings in this system? The "some settings managed by your organization" bit used to be a bug in early Windows 10. The solution was to toggle the computer configuration:

    search: gpedit

Error 0x80070057 - Updates failing [IMG]

    Administrative Templates
    Windows Components
    Data Collection and Preview Builds
    Allow Telemetry

    Edit the policy setting

Set to ALLOW (Enable it, Option #3 - FULL)

    reboot

    change back to Not Configured

See if that gets rid of the "some settings managed by..." notice.

    ---------------

If not, it may be that you should uninstall the update, put the computer into a clean boot state, reinstall the update, and see if that "some settings managed..." reappears.
