Windows 10: Error 0x8007007e and folder x64old

Trying to solve the above problem, all suggest accessing driver folder x64old, no such folder only x64 and following the sugestions using that does not resolve the issue. WHERE is x64old?

I've also uninstalled and re-installed the printer and driver with no success. I wanted to try the steps you list in your response but I don't have a folder title "x64old", only "x64". Any ideas?

printer error 0x8007007e

My printer isn't working properly.

there's a notice of error "0x8007007e".

my printer is manufactured by Brother and following their troubleshooter they direct me to a folder called "x64old" in order to find a file called "printer config.dll".

this folder doesn't exist on my computer, and when i search i don't find the "printer config.dll"-file, so the troubleshooter refered to microsoft.

what do i do now?

I understand how difficult it is, when the device or app won't work in the way it should, I'm sorry about that;

To fix this issue regarding printing PDF, try the following:

1. Press Win + R

2. Type spool and press Enter

3. Open the folder "drivers"

4. Open the folder "x64old"

5. Look for "printconfig.dll" in folder (might be in folder "3" within "x64old") and copy it (right click and "copy"), use search box in top right if needed

6. Go back to the folder "drivers" and open the folder "x64"

7. Paste the file "printconfig.dll" into the same part of the folder "x64" (paste it in the "3" folder within it if that is where you found it in "x64old")

Restart computer and it should work (it will take a few extra seconds to spool up when you print your first document in Edge or Mail)
