I have a problem with a folder which I can't delete, when I try to first it gives me the error code in the title, then when I try again it lets me, but after 5 seconds of it "deleting" things file explorer just closes itself. The folder was created by mistake by an app, and now I don't know how to get rid of it.As you can see here it's a folder with 263 folders All named Clips which a folder called Clips inside which continues on all the way I assumeinside it, and it's 0 bytes,It doesn't really hurt having it there since it's 0 bytes large, It's just annoying having it there with no purpos

Hi David, thanks for your question. I'm Graeme, a Microsoft Community expert and fellow user.

There are a number of suggestions to troubleshoot this error in the below article:

    https://www.thewindowsclub.com/error-0x80070091...

It suggests trying to rename the folder first, and if you can't do that then run Check Disk and restart Windows Explorer.

If you need assistance carrying out these steps or the problem persists, please let me know and I'll see what else we can try! Thanks!

    Original Title[Error 0x80070091]

Hi there everyone I'm hoping you can help me.

I'm trying to delete a folder off my secondary HDD after installing a video game however I'm getting the following error "Error 0x80070091: the directory is not empty"

Now I've had a search around and ran a CHKDSK check on the drive and it's fine, also tried to delete the folder in safe mode and tried to use AVG shred feature all the no avail.

I am hoping you all have some further suggestions that I could try as this is starting to stress me about a little and I'm fearing HDD failure!!

Thank you in advance Error 0x80070091 The directory is not empty :)
