Windows 10: Error 0x800703e6 does not leave me

Hello all!!Time to time I have been facing this issue.Started on H1 version where I could not update to H2, and now is reaching my current version.DISM and SFC does not work, I cannot update anything, even my video card drivers and nothing related to Windows Updates.I have tried ALL the possible solutions and usually the only one that works is reinstalling everything, however I am getting a lit bit tired of being doing this procedure every 2 or 3 months, because it simply happens and suddenly I cannot update anything.If someone has an idea on how to solve it, please, help me.I will attach my s

Error 0x800703e6 - is there actually a fix for this

Hi Dante,

It sounds like your AV is blocking DISM/SFC, which, in turn, generates the error 0x800703e6. I see four Symantec kernel drivers running. Have you tried uninstalling Symantec products to see if that helps? If that resolves the issue, you can install Symantec later (until then, Microsoft Defender AV will protect your computer.)

CBS & DISM logs



Follow these steps to collect the CBS logs.

1. Open the folder “C:\Windows\Logs\“
   
2. Select the two folders, namely, CBS and DISM.
   
3. Right-click on the section, and click Send to → Compressed (zipped) folder.

Autoruns log

• Download Autoruns from Microsoft, and run it as administrator.
  Autoruns for Windows - Sysinternals
  
• Wait for the entries to populate.
  
• Save the Autoruns log to an .ARN file.
  
• Zip the ARN file and upload/share it on OneDrive.
  

MSINFO32 log

• Open MSINFO32.EXE as administrator.
  
• In the MSINFO32 screen, press Ctrl + S and save the system information report (.NFO file).

Windows Update Error 0x800703e6

Here is what the error code means:

0x800703e6

Invalid access to memory location.

Step 1:

Press: Windows key

Type: disk cleanup

run disk cleanup as Administrator

scan C drive

select "Windows update cleanup" checkbox

Hit OK to clean up drive

reboot system

try to update again

Step 2:

If previous step doesn't work

Press: Windows key

type: Settings hit enter

type: Trouble

select: "Troubleshoot settings"

Scroll down, in the list click on
"Windows update"

Let troubleshooter try to solve the problem.

If previous steps doesn't work

Browse code samples

Download the script by clicking on a script name button, save to C:\ drive root

Right click on start button

select Powershell (Administrator)

Copy/paste bellow code into the console:

Hit Enter and wait for operation to complete

I Have the same problem where it tells me There were problems downloading some updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this, try searching the web or contacting support for help. This error code might help: (0x800703e6)

i did the cmd steps and still couldn’t work and i Tried Doing a windows update installation media from microsoft and it says installation Failed Is There anything else i can do ?

Also If i Restart my pc will i keep all my apps and files that i downloaded or wasted Money on ?
