Windows 10: Error 0x80240034 When Updating to Windows 10 v1909

So the past few weeks I have been trying to update to the latest version Version 1909 but I've tried everything on the forums and support pages without any avail. My current version is version 1803 and I use Windows 10 Education Edition x64. This is what I've currently tried so far:

• Disabling Windows Defender and Malwarebytes
• Downloading and Burning Windows Installation ISO to disk and trying to install that way
• SFC and DISM
• Using Windows 10 Update Assistant
• Updating from Windows Update Settings I've done this 5+ times
• Making sure there is enough space to update There is 100GB+ space on my local drive
• Using Windows Update Troubleshooter

I have tried everything under the sun, and I appreciate any help in getting this computer updated.

Update version 1803 (3) always fails with error 0x80240034

That error code means the download could not complete successfully....

In such cases, an in-place upgrade using an ISO made by Microsoft's Media Creation Tool should succeed where windows update fails. Note that the MCT now makes install media for the current version which is 1809. That should not be a problem and would be the version I'd use in your place (and am using on my PC). But if you really insist on upgrading to 1803 you'll need to use an 1803 ISO. This 3rd-party tool from Heidoc can generate a link to get one direct from Microsoft.

 

Windows Update Error 0x80240034

Windows 10 getting update error for version 1803 - 0x80240034

Hi there,

I am currently stuck at trying to update my Windows 10 from version 1709 to 1803 and getting 0x80240034 error. I have tried many ways to fix it like;

• check if there is vpc blocking windows update.
• downloading Microsoft Update Standalone Package from Windows Catalog and tried to update manually, however, I always get update not applicable for this computer error even though I downloaded the correct version.
• tried Windows 10 Update Assistant which didn't work because after it downloads and restarts the I see "undoing changes" warning
• tried to reset windows update stack from following the thread Windows Update Failure 3 - Windows 10 Forums, which indeed reset the stack but still no luck

I also did another research to see if there are any error logs which I found some from Event Viewer. Here are two different error logs associated to update events;

• ErrorCode 2359302, CommandLine "C:\Windows\system32\wusa.exe" "C:\Users\\Downloads\windows10.0-kb4467682-x64_7ef625075cf39550f9e9fa5bb069c0686731c47d.msu"
• ErrorCode 2149842967, CommandLine "C:\Windows\system32\wusa.exe" "C:\Users\\Downloads\windows10.0-kb4051613-x64_b2b1d0c13c89c6da1505178557b2150588a0358e.msu"
