Windows 10: Error 0xC00CE504

Error parsing

C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\config\machine.config

Parser returned error 0xC00CE504.

I've tried a lot of ways to fix this, I've tried reinstalling windows failed

I've tried using the DISM commands failed


I've tried doing the sfc /scannow failed


I've tried replacing the machine.config file with the machine.config.default file failed


Please help, I cannot enter a lot of apps and there's a lot of shortcuts and folders scrambled all around my desktop that I cannot remove when I try, it says the cloud provider is not running. But it never used to say this before


The programs I cannot enter are the ones that need updates, but it also happens to other programs.

Win 10 Configuration parser error 0xC00CE504

On a brand new computer getting the following error when clicking on the start menu icon in Windows 10.

MOM.exe - Configuration parser error

Error parsing

C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\config\machine.config

Parser returned error 0xC00CE504.

This machine is literally two days old.. It worked fine when started for the first couple of days. On day three started normally and boots to desktop. Selecting start menu error window pops up.

Attempted to restore an earlier date

but obviously not much to choose from. Restore functioned normally but had no affect correcting error.

Any ideas where to go from here with out utilizing recovery disk would be helpful..

Hmm. Either it's put out errors and WCG is limiting the work units available, or the project list may not be set to supply other WU when one runs out. (if the problem lies here and not on your end)

On the options to your left, if you go into Results Status, select the computer from Device Name and then look through results see if either they were returned late, errors or any other kind of issue that would stop the servers supplying WU from that perspective.

If there are no errors then it's maybe down to your project list. So selecting Device Manager from the left menu and then clicking on the profile assigned to that computer and make sure that it's assigned to receive WU for other projects if they run out.

At least those steps will rule out problems from the WCG end.
