Windows 10: Error 1935

An .exe application is trying to install 'Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Setup' but facing the Error 1935 which says: Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assambly 'Microsoft.VC90.ATL, version="9.0.30729.6161", publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",processorArchitecture="x86", type="win32"', Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT: 0x80070005Please help

I suggest you refer to XiaoanZhong's solution, which you will find on the following thread. He provided a set of troubleshooting steps for Windows 7 but the practice proved that it is also good for Windows 10

Assuming Defender is running and its icon is hidden:

then do this




then click the bottom link here:




and select on/off for Defender in the list.
