Windows 10: error attempting to get email

I create an account, give it a password, then use Microsoft Mail app to get my email. I get the following error:


We couldn't access this account ******** . You might need to update your password or give the account permission to synch to this device.


I assume Microsoft mail is using the account to get the password, which is the same password I used to create it. The same problem occurs with Mozilla Thunderbird.


Any solution?

I do not like to suggest hard resets all the time to solve everything.
