Windows 10: Error code 0x80004005

Hi, I'm having this error code after updating my pc from windows 10 version 1709 to 1909. Error code is0x80004005. I can not activate my windows. Why is this happening? My windows was activated. Why am I facing this error ? After running troubleshoot it asks me to install windows 10 single language home but what a stupid thing it is.... i did install windows 10 home single language. Help me please.

I have looked over many other posts about this, all with the same error code, but with a different problem.

I have a computer thats a few years old, it has an ABIT kn8-sli motherboard, and its running off windows XP.

I was having problem with the hard drive before I gave up on it awhile back, and now I have come back and resolved that problem, but now when I get to the login screen and type in the password it says its in need of an update, then when it asks me if I want to update I click Yes, and then it says it won't work due to error 0x80004005.

The only operating system I have currently is windows 7. Do I need to go buy a new OS or is this recoverable?

• Are getting the error code only when transferring a specific file to your PC?
• Have you tried transferring the same file from USB to a different computer?
• Were you able to transfer files using the same USB to your computer before the issue started?
