    Hi,

I have Win10 Professional on my pc.

I wanted to check if I had any windows updates then I got Error Code 0x80070057 and my windows defender did not work. Then I downloaded Malware bytes and run for 6h to scan whole pc... found 30 files which I deleted ofc... later I google how to fix the Error Code 0x80070057 issue, they wrote that I should go to CMD as admin and do scf/scannow, it found corrupt files, it rebooted, it surely fixed the Windows update and defender issue but now I can not open any image files on my drives it says this.
I had like pdf, png, autodeks 3d files on my dekstop monitor front page all of these got deleted after the scf/scannow method, I am kinda sad that I lost files, but some programs still remain but many got removed or moved to another folder... I do not know what to do. I can not view any images either now.

    Please help.

  3. Windows Update gives error code 0x80070057

Too bad that didn't work *Sad

    Try a clean startup:

    Launch System Configuratiion (msconfig)

    on the Services tab:
Error Code 0x80070057 Could not update Windows, did scf/scannow, my files got deleted from... [IMG]
Hide all Microsoft servicesPress the [Disable all] button

on the Startup tab: Press Open Task Manager
    Disable all items listed
    Close Task Manager
Press [Ok] on the System Configuration window

    Restart your machine
Try a manual Windows Update from Settings -> Update and Recovery (not Control Panel)

The issue might be HW related.

A few other suggested fixes were to run wsreset

This might have more affect (works on Win10, not just Win8.x)
    Store - Re-register in Windows 8 and 8.1

Try all three and test an update.
