Windows 10: Error code 0x800f0904 when upgrading from Windows 10 Home to Pro

I purchased Windows 10 Pro to upgrade from the Home edition from the Microsoft Store. When my computer is preparing for the upgrade, at about 75% I get the the message Windows upgrade failed: Error code 0x800f0904.


I have tried multiple times, restarted many times, made sure all upgrades were complete. My first attempts it errored at 10% and by the fourth attempt I got to about 75%.


Unfortunately now my system settings tells me that Windows is not activated on my laptop and can't be activated.

When I try to upgrade from 1903 to 1909, I get this Error 0x800f0904

 

Error code 0x8009000f on upgrading to Windows 10 from Windows 7 Pro.

In trying to upgrade my Windows 7 Pro to 10, when it started the upgrade if halted with the error code 0x8009000f. I cann ot find this error code in any of the online listings. Any Suggestions? RES

I suggest you to download and create an installation media for Windows 10 Pro form the link provided below:

Download Windows 10

After the installation media is created, suggest you to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro from the installation media. When the upgrade asks for product key, enter the product key purchased for Windows 10 Pro. If it does not accept, suggest you to skip the activation
step. After the Operating System is installed, suggest you to activate by phone by following the steps below:

• Press “Windows key + R” and type “slui 4” and press Enter.
• Select the Region from the list and click Next.
• Call the Toll-Free number provided on top and can activate via phone.
