Windows 10: Error code 0x8019019a when trying to add Yahoo mail account to new HP laptop.

I have a new HP laptop. When I try to add my Yahoo email account, I get an error code of 0x8019019a. I've tried multiple times, and get the same code. Any thoughts? On the web I've seen suggestions about this code coming up when upgrading to Window's 10, but my computer came with Windows 10. I've called, but the automated system says I have to pay to get support. I'm beyond myself with that piece of information, and quite frustrated at this point. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Setting up a new Windows 10 machine. Trying to setup Yahoo mail in Mail App and gettting Error 0x8019019a. How to fix this? I have tried both user password and app password. Same result.

I went this route and added passwords for yahoo mail. I might try this method above to get gmail to buck up! *Tongue

YAHOO MAIL FIX
2FA needs to be enabled which it already was and just follow these steps below.

1. In yahoo mails account security, click on manage app passwords.




2. After selecting other app and entering the new app name in the text box




3. Now, in Windows 10 mail app, add this type of account.




4. In Windows 10 mail app, enter your details and the password generated by step 2.




Fully functional mail app again.



GMAIL FIX

Now similar steps to setting up Gmail. Here I'll only go through the Gmail steps as Windows Mail App setup is the exact same.

Yes, once 2-factor authentication is enabled you should then create the app specific password & enter it instead of the account password.
