Windows 10: Error code 0x80242016 on Windows 10 version 20H2 update

Dell Latitude 3379 laptop with Windows 10 Enterprise x64 version 1909 is continuously rolling back on version 20H2 update. The error code showing in the Windows update history is 0x80242016. I've tried many of the published suggestions including deleting folders and running sfc and dism commands but it still occurring. I will attempt to upload the .log files from C:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Panther

The setuperr.log has 234 lines which is too many to copy into this post.


How can I resolve this error so the update will complete successfully?

Error with update for windows 10 0x80242016

I have installed windows 10 1903 by clean way and tried update operating system, but after all windows updates i have checked the update list and seen that pic



but it turned out already have installed that update in "installed updates"



So the main question is "do i need reinstall that update or it installed correct and everything is okay?"

I performed a clean installation of Windows 10, the current version. But I have the problem that the kb4515384 update cannot be installed with error 0x80242016. Do you know what caused this error?

I recently faced this issue and strangely the problem was resolved after disabling windows search service.

Once you are upated to windows 10 2004, just re-enable the search service.
