Windows 10: Error Code: 0x803F8001 on MS Store while trying to download Xbox Game Bar

Very recently started to encounter an issue with the Xbox Game Bar on Windows 10. Whenever I opened a game through the Xbox app I have game pass for PC I would receive the following error message:


Check your account


Xbox Game Bar is currently not available in your account. Here's the error code, in case you need it:

0x803F8001

In an attempt to fix the issue, I uninstalled Xbox Game Bar from my PC and when I went to reinstall it, I get the following error message:


Something unexpected happened.

The issue is isolated to the Game Bar. I am able to install other apps from the Store without any issues.


I have tried the following troubleshooting steps after Googling the issue:


1. Run Troubleshoot for Windows Store Apps


2. Reset Windows Store cache by running wsreset.exe as administrator in Command Prompt.


3. Re-register the Windows Store App. Ran the following script from PowerShell as Admin:

Get-AppXPackage Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$$_.InstallLocation\AppXManifest.xml"}


4. Delete all the files and folders from C:\Users\user_name\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.WindowsStore_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache.


5. End the Background Intelligent Transfer Service and the Windows Update service and delete everything in C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution directory:


- Open Windows Store app
- Click on small icon or picture on the left of search window
- Click on you profile 1st choice
- Click on your profile again in the window that opened
- Sign-out
- Search the App that you want to install
- Click on the App and click install while being signed off, IMPORTANT
- Windows Store will ask you to sign-in once or twice
- Once you sign in the App will install without giving the error message


None of the above steps has resolved the issue. My PC has no Windows updates and is currently running Windows 10 Home 2004 build 19041.610.


Per similar forums, the issue may be related to my Microsoft Cloud account and that it needs to be reset on Microsoft's end.

Getting the error message of Xbox Game Bar Code 0x803F8001 when starting up games?

I have been starting up the games and whenever I start up Microsoft Store and launch Xbox Game Bar and start up games I get an error message saying...

"Xbox Game Bar is currently not available in your account. Make sure you are signed in to the Store and try again. Here's the error code, in case you need it: 0x803F8001"

I have tried Repairing and Resetting the Xbox Game Bar and Microsoft Store from the settings menu but no luck and is there a reason what is causing it and would you help me to know how to fix it?

After updating my computer to the most recent optional Cumulative update, I have found that Xbox Game Bar does not load anymore and instead reads the error, "Xbox Game Bar is currently not available in your account. Make sure you are signed in to the Store
and try again. Here’s the error code, in case you need it: 0x803F8001" upon either trying to access it through the microsoft store or through the Win-G shortcut. I've tried everything I could find online but to no avail.
