Windows 10: Error code 0xC0020036 Windows activation failure

Hi,

A few months ago I sent my components to a PC shop to get it built and install Windows for me, when I went to pick it up the man who built it was shocked to see that Windows was already activated once he downloaded it (he said it might to be with the motherboard). Anyways a few days later my motherboard was having problems and so I had to switch it and build it up by myself again. I installed Windows 10 Home and it came up with a watermark which I expected, the next few months I would spend not activating it until I really needed to.

Only recently have I been having problems with my PC, logging on shows a black screen 100% of the time until I restart, taskbar freezing sometimes, and not being able to download lastest Windows 10 updates. I'm guessing this is a sign for me to activate my Windows. So I decide to buy a product key and when I go onto the activation screen, I'm presented with the error 0xC0020036 (Windows cannot access the activation servers). This is total bullcrap as this error has been showing every day now for the past week. Everytime I enter the product key(s) they let me press the "Activate" button and it goes through the process of activating for about 10-15 minutes or so. After it just shows the yellow text and the "can't access servers" bullcrap.

I think this may be to do with my old motherboard is some way, but I've tried different product keys and slgmr stuff in CMD and editing the registry and this yellow text thing constantly keeps appearing. I don't even have the option to ring the toll number to activate it that way as running "SLUI 4" just doesn't present me a window of any sort.

Appreciate any help or advice you could give me.

That something is really messed up....

This is what you should get:

 

Windows 10 will not activate Error code 0x803F7001

Possibly there can be the problem with Microsoft activation Server, so your Windows 10 is not activated. In this scenario, you need to wait and verify if it is the issue from Microsoft’s side. But if you are getting error code 0x803f7001, you can also try these steps:

1. Open Settings app. Then go to Update and security > Activation screen > Change product.
2. Type your Windows edition product key and click Next.
3. You’ll get We couldn’t activate Windows error message.
4. Retry steps 1-3 then type your 25-characters unique product key.
5. Wait for the process to complete, Windows 10 is activated.
