    Error code: 80004001 on Microsoft Surface Laptop 2, cannot reset


    I purchased a brand new Surface Laptop 2 only a couple of months ago. It was occasionally freezing and showing a blue screen but I managed to restart. Now suddenly I cannot start windows up at all. I get only two options: Troubleshoot or Turn Off Your PC. When I go to Troubleshoot, there is no opion to Reset. I'm completely stuck. After a few rebooting attempts I then got the Error code: 80004001. Can anyone assist ?

    Hi, after installing the fall update a few days ago, my laptop has now refused to boot and all I get is a blue screen with the Error code 80004001. I'm not able to use system restore or go back to the previos version and neither am I able to reset
    it.

    This doesn't list the "Surface Laptop", but you might give it a try to see.

    *Arrow Boot Microsoft Surface from a USB device

    Otherwise, you should be able to use OPTION ONE below to boot from the USB from advanced startup.
