    Sorry but even recommendation is not a word I would use,
    Also having been a tester on seven when defender was quite new, and having seen it on several systems that I have helped people with.
    I get them to download the free version of Avast if they cannot afford to pay for the likes of McAfee or bitefender.
    I was trying to explain why I don't recommend windows defender.
    Microsoft Security Essencials was better than defender and that is saying something.

    Windows Defender came with Windows Vista, way before "seven".
    Just stop self-promoting and mumbling.
    MOVE ON !!!

    Furthermore, Windows Defender in Win 10 is the latest version of Microsoft Security Essentials.
    Get the fact straight.

    Yes lets move on also I did not go to vista as had bad reports and write ups
    So sorry but that was the first time I used defender
    when I went from XP to Windows 7

    You have been trying a few methods. I don't even know what is your current status anymore.
    Let's cut the chase.
    1. Are you willing to or can you put up with your Windows 10 as it is now ?
    If yes, stay put until Nov. 10th when Threshold 2 is expected to release. Update it and see if that solves your problems.

    2. No, it unbearable, then reinstall your Win 7.
    If you want to stay with Win 7 for a while, then make sure you change your Windows update setting to Manual.
    Whenever you have new updates available, go over them. Make sure you don't accept Windows 10 download until you are ready.

    That is all I can say to you.
