Windows 10: error message; something happened PIN not available

I read through another thread regarding this issue but none of the replies worked for me.


I have 2 options "set up PIN" or "sign-in options"

clicking on "set up PIN" does absolutely nothing and choosing password from the "sign-in options" doesn't work, either I have forgotten the password since I was logging on with a PIN for quite some time or something else isn't working.


Other users can log on successfully but mine is the admin account so there's nothing I can do.


Where do I go from here?

Hmm. Either it's put out errors and WCG is limiting the work units available, or the project list may not be set to supply other WU when one runs out. (if the problem lies here and not on your end)

On the options to your left, if you go into Results Status, select the computer from Device Name and then look through results see if either they were returned late, errors or any other kind of issue that would stop the servers supplying WU from that perspective.

If there are no errors then it's maybe down to your project list. So selecting Device Manager from the left menu and then clicking on the profile assigned to that computer and make sure that it's assigned to receive WU for other projects if they run out.

At least those steps will rule out problems from the WCG end.

Pin Login not available and can't change or remove my pin

Hi Saschavan,

To help you disable your PIN login, kindly follow the steps below:

• Go to this location: Settings/Accounts/Sign-in options
• Check the PIN options and click the I forget my PIN available to click?
  
• Enter your password, it will prompt you to enter a new PIN.
• Click Cancel and your PIN should be disable upon reboot.
