Windows 10: Error on downloading Acrobat Dc

I've been trying to download Acrobat DC on my laptop, this is a home computer nothing special and have had the program on the laptop before. But today in trying to download it, it has came back with this error message Windows installer does not permit patching of managed advertise products. At least one feature must be installed before applying the patch. After reaching out to Adobe I've been told that I need to get a Microsoft all patch files in .exe format.

I've tired to uninstall all adobe programs and file's from laptop to see if it was just a broken file.

Dose any one know how to get the patch or even where it would put.


I'm thinking that is a bit over kill what they are asking for after looking and doing a bit of research about the patch people are talking about this popping up in business and sorting out broken severs.

Adobe Acrobat Reader DC

Operating system is Windows 10 Pro, Every time I open Acrobat Reader DC I get the following message:

"Windows - Application Error, The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000022) Click OK to Close the application"

I am unable to uninstall Acrobat reader DC as it does not show listed in the "Apps & Features"

how can I uninstall this program?

I have Window 8.1 on my laptop. I use Firefox Mozilla browser. Last week I have received a notification to update window 8.1. So I did updates and restart my laptop again. After that I had issue with my 'pdf" files couldn't open them. Then one of the agents
from Microsoft "uninstalled" the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC from my laptop. Now I tried to download
Adobe Acrobat Reader DC but I can't download it, there is an error message says it is not downloaded. Any suggestions?

VICTORY AT LAST!!!!
The solution turns out to be installing Reader XI in lieu of Reader DC. Reader XI at can be found at:
Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution. Although the page title is Adobe Reader DC Distribution you can select "Reader 11.1.10 English for Windows" in the Step 3 dropdown. The downloaded install file is "AdobeRe11010_en_US.exe".

During the installation a dialogue box allows you to decide if it becomes the default pdf handler.



This option is not available with Reader DC.
During the installation of Reader XI the pdf file association is changed to Edge so you'll need to change it back to Acrobat 9.5. That's it all done. Just remember not to accept and upgrade to Reader DC in the future.
