Windows 10: Error Reporting

Approximately 2 months ago, error reporting by windows stopped. This seemed to coincide with a windows 10 update.

By error reporting I mean the message box that should appear on an application failure, informing that the application needs to stop and offering several selections such as Abort, Retry, etc. Applications now just disappear if they crash.

Windows still produces the log messages in the events list, just the dialogue has gone missing.

Can anybody please tell me what could have caused this and hoe to fix it?

HDD S.M.A.R.T. reports error, what should I do?

first step is to back up the data first ... Then check the hdd for errors, etc ...

I guess the next logical step would be to report on the performance you can get with SLI in Linux. That'd be my suggestion anyway.

 

Computer randomly has black screen and restarts

Taco this could be software also. Before you get all crazy, do as Erocker suggested. Find out the error in the Event Viewer. Look for the faulting module and the error code itself. Also check the reliability monitor. At the bottom it will have "View all Error Reports". Post a screen of whats in there if anything.

This could be a simple as a bad driver install.

ALSO have you downloaded or installed anything lately? STAY OUT OF THE DAMN BIOS UNTIL WE KNOW THE ERROR! lol. I know you. Baby steps boy, baby steps.
