Samsung data migration cannot recognize my Samsung SSD 840 EVO


Like you, I encountered source disk bad sectors error when cloning with Samsung migration software. Resolved by using EaseUS Tool to clone.

 

Migrating from HDD to SSD

You're looking at just under 75GB of data to migrate from your HDD to SSD so...
I'd suggest you use Todo Backup Free for migrations to SSDs. As "Word Man" mentioned, you get to choose if you want to move some or all of the partitions of a disk. I think you'll be ok to just migrate/clone the whole disk to the new SSD and then from it from the SSD to the other physical drive you mentioned having. If you have a Samsung SSD, use their Samsung Magician software to do the clone.

 

HDD to SSD Samsung 860 EVO Data Migration Error Failed. 99%

Hi,

Current computer is a Dell Inspiron with intel core i7 Windows 10. It has a 1 TB hard drive with 16 GB ram.

I'm trying to Clone my current HDD to my new SSD Samsung 860 EVO, but it gets stuck at 99% and I keep on getting an error code of:
