    ESENT 642 errors and crashing?


    I currently just finished a new build with a x570 ASUS Crosshair VIII, 5900x and a 3080 but currently whenever I play a game (been testing with CoD recently) I crashout (total black and PC shuts off) shortly into a game or right at the start of the game. The only thing I am seeing in logs thats showing up when crashing are the ESENT errors.

    I have no idea if this is a problem that can be fixed or if its hardware messing me up, just trying to figure something out. Everything else works fine, until I boot up a game and play for a little. Or is this due to having newer CPU/GPU? Any help is appreciated

    ESENT 642 errors after update to version 2004

    It's now 10 days since 2004 updated and the Windows.old folder was automatically deleted. My ESENT 642 warnings in event viewer have STOPPED. I cannot answer as to crashing apps and slowdowns but as far as the ESENT warning goes, I think this was the solution.

    That's really odd. I get no ESENT errors in Home upgraded to 2004.....
