  1. Ethernet adapter working with 10Mbps instead of 100Mbps

So I've noticed that in last 2 months or so my internet became slow on PC but the wi-fi on other devices worked just as before. I tested the speeds multiple times and was getting only 10 Mbps instead of 100 that I was getting before threw Ethernet connection. I tried updating the drivers, still same result. I tried installing the old 2015 original motherboard's Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller drivers and speed came back to 100Mbps, however after I restart PC, in network proprieties it starts showing again that I have the Link speed (Receive/Transmit): 10Mbps and the speed is once again back to that low value. I suspect that its a incompatibility of my motherboard or my Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller with the newer versions of Windows 10, rather than my internet provider or router.
My Windows Pro version - 1809
    Motherboard - Asus B150M-A
LAN - Realtek RTL8111H Gigabit LAN controller

  2. Ethernet is Limiting download to 10Mbps

You may have to force both the router or switch port and the computer's Ethernet adapter to 100Mbps full duplex. But in my experience, some switch / Ethernet connections prefer and will run faster, with less errors, if both are set to Auto, rather than forced.
It is years ago since I looked at this though, as I always just let them use defaults at home.

I would suspect the cable also, as was already suggested. Even wireless is much faster than 10Mbps these days. My Realtek PCIe Family Controller is connected to Ethernet at 1Gbps.

Do you have some old switch between that might only be capable of 10Mbps?

It is also possible that connectivity has been limited per device by some router setting.

  3. Ethernet is Limiting download to 10Mbps

I have changed the default setting to 100Mbps in the under Speed & Duplex, Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller Properties to allow 100 Mbps Full Duplex but it does not override and when I close out, it still shows 10Mbps. I spoke to Cox and they ran diagnostics
which show I am receiving 150 Mbps to my router. They said it is an issue with my Dell Desktop computer Ethernet Setting is not allowing more bandwidth. Can anyone help me?

Ethernet adapter working with 10Mbps instead of 100Mbps

IP configuration not valid - interference from ethernet adapter?

Solution 1: No Internet Access In Windows 8.1or Windows 10

    Step 1:

Go to Device Manager → Network adapters.
    Step 2:

    Expand it (Network adapters).

    Step 3:

    Select your network adapter

    Step 4:

Right click on your wireless network adapter or Ethernet adapter and then tap “Update Driver Software”.
(in this case your network adopter is Ethernet adopter so tap your Ethernet adapter)
    Step 5:

Now on a new window you will need to click on “Browse my computer for driver software”.

    Step 6:

Then select “Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer”.

    Step 7:

Now choose the “Manufacturer’s drivers” from the list of two and then click next.

    Step 8:

After the completion of the process just restart your PC and check if the problem is solved or not. If not, goto solution 2.

Solution 2: No Internet Access In Windows 8.1,windows10

    Step 1:

    Open command prompt.
    Step 2:

Just go on hitting the enter after typing the each command.
netsh int tcp set heuristics disabled
netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disable
netsh int tcp set global rss=enabled
    Step 3:

Now to check if the settings are disabled type:
    netsh int tcp show global
    then hit enter.
    Step 4:

Now the thing left is just rebooting your system and just check if the problem is solved or not and just give feedback.*chuckle*Thumbs
